Store, France
In 1949, Edouard Leclerc created his first store with the strategy of selling goods at wholesale prices. As a result of the success he experienced, he soon had the idea of developing a network of stores by advocating competitive prices. This network of independent stores, organized into regional buying groups, now includes 562 stores and is the leader of supermarket distribution in France with 18.4% market share.
Leclerc is one of the well-known hypermaché chains in France known for their fine wine department.
The objective
- To preserve wines in optimal conditions: temperature, humidity, UV protection ...
- To improve the image of: impossible to sell high-end wines on standard supermarket shelves!
The solution
The ShowCave with one temperature zone was chosen. The entire wine cabinet is set at 12° C so that the wines are at the correct storage temperature.
The product
The ShowCave wine showcase is by far the most stylish way to showcase your wine selection to your customers. Not only are the cabinets themselves designed to the highest aesthetic standards, but they can also be combined to form a wine wall that is second to none.
The result
About fifteen stores have been equipped with ShowCave cabinets for several years. Although they are used to effectively display prestigious wines, some department managers confess that they also use them as a merchandising tool to create traffic in their departments and encourage more customers to visit the department. In this way, by cleverly placing "mid-range" products on either side of the display cases, they have been able to develop their sales of high-end bottles and increase the department's average price.
