The use of lava rock in the elements creates the unique feature of perfectly balancing the climate for the wines. As the ambient temperature rises, moisture evaporates from the porous stone. That evaporation in turn extracts heat from the wine bottle, ultimately keeping the wine cooler than the environment. If the temperature drops, the exact opposite happens. This lava stone wine rack is therefore ideal for any wine cellar.

The A-element is the base. On this element you can place up to 52 bottles in a perfectly stable way. With the ZT walls, you can build a multi-level rack. Two side walls are required per level. By inserting intermediate walls, you can create smaller compartments. The flat V-element serves as a cover plate for a shelving unit. See different situations with Gardevin in the photo gallery.

The perfect cellar climate

  • Constant temperature The best storage temperature is between 10 and 14° C. A constant temperature is most important.
  • Ideal humidity The ideal humidity is between 60 and 75%. This ensures a good sealing of the cork.
  • Constant air circulation It is good to ventilate the wine cellar to prevent mold growth.
  • Store wines lying down Wines with cork should be stored lying down to prevent oxidation by oxygen.
  • Free of vibration and odors Your wines should be stored vibration-free, without harmful odors in the same room.
  • Dark Make sure no UV rays reach your wines, they are harmful in the aging process.
