Frequently Asked Questions

The carbon filter is inserted from the inside into the designated hole in the upper left corner of the wine cabinet. To change the carbon filter, remove the old filter from the inside, possibly with a little prying. You can then put the new carbon filter back in and press it firmly. It may be that there is a shelf in front of the hole, in which case you should take the bottles off that shelf and take the shelf out. If you have a wine cabinet with a display with alarm functions, you will also need to reset the carbon filter alarm. We would like to refer to the user manual of your wine cabinet for this.

There is continuous natural air circulation in EuroCave wine cabinets. This principle works on the basis of negative pressure in the wine cabinet, causing air to enter the wine cabinet through the hole of least resistance. Inside this hole is an active carbon filter. The activated carbon in this filter ensures that the air is purified before it enters the wine cabinet. So you are always assured of clean air in your wine cabinet (provided the carbon filter is replaced once a year).

In most EuroCave wine cabinets, the storage shelves are on four supports. A support is a metal holder with two pins and a rubber cap on top. These pins fit precisely into the pre-punched holes on the inside of the wine cabinet. Place the four supports at the same height and place a storage shelf on top. The storage shelf also has two rubber caps on the back, these are spacers to the back of the wine cabinet. The first row of bottles you place on the storage shelf can be pushed against the wooden back batten. However, the second row of bottles that you place in the back of the wine cabinet should not be against the back wall. The best way to do this is to first push the bottle all the way against the back and then pull it back an inch, this way you can be sure that there is space left between the bottle and the back wall. Why is this important? Because droplets of moisture run down the back wall and these droplets should not be obstructed by wine bottles, otherwise there is a chance of freezing.

To install a sliding shelf, you need a left and a right rail. These rails are clicked into the appropriate holes in the left and right sides of the wine cabinet at the desired height. You can then insert the sliding shelf by placing it at a 45-degree angle in the rail and moving it horizontally and also pushing it back in a smooth motion.

Despite careful adjustment at the factory, it can happen that the shelf does not run so well (anymore) in the rail. This is a question of readjustment. You do this as follows: you remove the shelf from the wine cabinet. You will see screws on the side, by loosening them slightly, you can pull the rail slightly outward (to make the shelf wider) or push it inward (to make the shelf narrower). Then tighten the screws again. And put the shelf back into the wine cabinet.

You will receive a left and a right rail with the soft-close sliding shelf. You hang these in the appropriate holes in the side walls at your desired height. Slide out the rail and place the shelf on it. Slide the shelf backwards until the hook of the shelf falls into the hole provided, then click the shelf down at the front. We have a video for you to make it even clearer

To change a sliding shelf with presentation option, first remove all bottles from the shelf. Then remove the sliding shelf by tilting it toward you.

Slide it towards you, lifting the front in the process. Remove the guide bars from the walls. Determine the correct height and proceed in reverse.

Your EuroCave wine cabinet is virtually maintenance free. Nevertheless, you should do a few things once a year:

  1. The carbon filter should be replaced
  2. Dust the heat exchanger at the back so that the warm air stays away properly
  3. Take out the bottles at the very bottom of the wine cabinet to clean the bottom of the wine cabinet
  4. Should water remain on the bottom of the wine cabinet, you can pierce the pipe at the back left, it may be clogged

That's it ... not too bad right?

In case of low humidity, proceed as follows:

  1. Model with humidity cassette: moisten the hydro pellets contained in the cassette and place the cassette under the grid on the bottom of the wine cabinet

Model without humidity cassette: place a damp cloth on the bottom of the wine cabinet or order the hygro kit, a terra cotta roll that you can fill with water and place on any shelf in the wine cabinet between your wine bottles. The water will then gradually evaporate through the terra cotta layer.

High humidity is certainly not harmful to the contents of your wine bottle. It only becomes very annoying when your labels are affected. What all can you do?

  1. Replace the carbon filter in your wine cabinet
  2. Ensure that the door closes properly along the entire edge (tip: you can see this clearly with a sheet of paper)
  3. Ensure that you do not have ice buildup against the back wall of your wine cabinet. If this is the case, please check what to do in case of icing in your wine cabinet

Is all of the above taken care of and correct? Then ask the service department what could be the cause.

The best wine cabinet for storing wine, is a wine cabinet in which the temperature both top and bottom, back and front is equal to the set value (e.g. 12° C), with a deviation of no more than 0.1° C. This is determined, among other things, by the thickness of the insulation, by using aluminum inner walls for good conduction and natural air circulation in the wine cabinet.

The wine cabinet should have a hot and a cold circuit, so that when the ambient temperature varies, the temperature inside the wine cabinet remains constant (for example, at an ambient temperature of 0 to 35° C). In the best storage cabinet for your wine, the humidity is not lower than 50%, but preferably between 60 and 75%. The interplay of natural air circulation with air from outside the wine cabinet, condensation on the back wall and the drainage of excess water ensures this.

Vibrations are disastrous for your wine, therefore it is important that the compressor is suspended independently of the wine cabinet with, for example, silence blocks. Wine should be stored in the dark, but if a solid door does not invite you to put the wine cabinet in a prominent place in the house, make sure the glass door is treated to block 100% of UV rays. If the wine cabinet meets the above characteristics, then you have the best wine cabinet.

There are several options for serving wine, depending on your needs. We put the options in order of most chosen models

  1. A serving cabinet with multi temperature zones, recognizable by the S in front of the series designation (e.g. S-Pure-L); in these wine cabinets there is an ingenious hot and cold circuit which ensures that from the bottom to the top there is a temperature gradient. For example, from 8 degrees C at the bottom to 18 degrees C at the top of the wine cabinet. So you can put the relevant wine on each shelf and you will always have all your wines perfectly at the right drinking temperature.
  2. A serving cabinet with 2 temperature zones, recognizable by the D in the series designation (see EuroCave's PRO series). A serving cabinet with 2 separate compartments for serving white wine (at the top of the wine cabinet) and red wine (at the bottom of the wine cabinet). All the white wines are at the same serving temperature and all the red wines. So you have less to think about which wine should be at which temperature than with the multi temperature zone wine cabinet, but then also offers fewer variations to make just that 2 degree difference between Burgundy (16 degrees C) and Bordeaux (18 degrees C).
  3. A serving cabinet with 1 temperature zone, recognizable by the V in the series designation (e.g. V-Pure-L). The entire wine cabinet is adjustable to 1 temperature, so you have to make a choice whether you want to serve your red or your white wine from this... only interesting if you want to serve large quantities of 1 same wine from the wine cabinet.
  4. If you want to combine serving with storing the wine, there is the 3 temperature zone wine cabinet, recognizable by the E in the series designation (e.g. E-Pure-L). In this wine cabinet, besides storing the wine, you can put some red wines in a small compartment at the top of the wine cabinet at drinking temperature and some bottles of white wine at the bottom of the wine cabinet in a closed compartment. Thus, the ideal combination cabinet.

Nothing is more annoying than a cluttered wine cabinet, for a wine enthusiast. Therefore, it is important to choose the layout with care. First determine which part of your wine stock is suitable for stacking and which bottles you prefer to put down per single layer, preferably on a shelf which can slide outwards, as most wine cabinets work with a double depth, front and back row. For larger batches, you can opt for storage shelves. On these shelves you can stack up to 80 bottles. This only works if the shelf has a special profile in which the bottles lie firmly. For the Bordeaux bottles there is a Bordeaux storage shelf and the rest go on a universal storage shelf.

For all "singles" the sliding shelf is ideal: 12 different bottles on 1 shelf and you can see at a glance what's inside by sliding it outside the cabinet (of course on roller bearings, otherwise the wine vibrates too much).

To make it all even more convenient, EuroCave has developed an app, where in a virtual wine cabinet, regardless of brand, you can neatly place all the wines, so you never have to search again.

The largest single wine cabinet holds a maximum of about 225 bottles. Therefore, if you have more wines, you should place several wine cabinets side by side. This will look like 1 unit, by the way, because the wine cabinets can be placed tightly together. 225 wine bottles is approximately equivalent to 275 kg, so you understand that it is very important that the frame of your wine cabinet is sturdy, otherwise the weight of the wine bottles could deform the wine cabinet. The frame of the EuroCave wine cabinet is made of 1 whole, steel, so you can be sure that it will not deform, regardless of the number of bottles.

EuroCave has different types of wine cabinets, why choose a 1 temperature zone wine cabinet?

A 1 temperature zone wine cabinet is mainly used for storing wine, thus replacing a wine cellar. All aspects for storing the wine under the right conditions are taken into account in this wine cabinet; the ideal storage temperature, the right humidity, free of odors and vibrations and dark or free of UV rays. If you are looking for a wine cabinet to store your wine (for a longer period of time), then this is the perfect wine cabinet for you.

EuroCave has different types of wine cabinets, why choose a 2 temperature zone wine cabinet?

The 2 temperature zone wine cabinet for professionals is a serving cabinet where white wines are served at the top and red wines at the bottom.

EuroCave has different types of wine cabinets, why choose a 3 temperature zone wine cabinet?

EuroCave 's 3 temperature zone wine cabinet is ideal for the private wine enthusiast who wants to have a few bottles of white and red wine ready at drinking temperature in addition to storing wine.

EuroCave has different types of wine cabinets, why choose a multi temperature zone wine cabinet?

EuroCave 's multi temperature zone wine cabinet is designed to have all different wines ready at the right drinking temperature. So you can lay out everything from Champagne to Bordeaux at serving temperature in 1 wine cabinet. This serving cabinet is mostly used in the hospitality industry, but there are more and more individuals who do not want to keep wine for a long time, but do find the convenience of drinking at the right temperature important.

Basically anywhere you want, indoors that is. Be careful not to place the wine cabinet in direct sunlight, as the sun will heat up the wine cabinet and therefore the wine cabinet will have to work harder to maintain its set temperature. The same goes for the place next to a heat source. Furthermore, it is advisable to place the wine cabinet on a solid surface so that it is not affected by vibrations from outside. You need a (grounded) outlet to run the wine cabinet, but if the cord is too short, you can install an extension cord.

In case of ice build-up in your wine cabinet, proceed as follows:

  1. Turn off your wine cabinet and let all the ice melt
  2. Make the inside of the wine cabinet as dry as possible (without removing all the wines)
  3. Turn the wine cabinet back on and make sure the bottles are not touching the back wall. This mainly occurs with storage shelves, i.e. multiple rows of bottles on top of each other. To make sure the wine bottle does not touch the back of the wine cabinet, it is best to slide it against the back wall and then pull it back an inch.
  4. Has your carbon filter been replaced within the last year? If not, we recommend that you do so.
  5. Does the door close properly? With a white sheet of paper you can see this even better, slide it between the cabinet and the door.

With these tips, the icing should be gone and stay gone. If it does not, please contact our service department.

Yes you do. EuroCave has developed the Compact series for this purpose. The dimensions of these wine cabinets are perfectly matched to the standard dimensions of household appliances and are therefore ideal for building into your kitchen, for example. The Compact series is available as a 1-zone storage cabinet or as a multi-zone serving cabinet. EuroCave 's other wine cabinets can also be built in, provided there is a possibility of hot air extraction.

Yes. Although red and white should be served at different temperatures, the ideal storage temperature for every wine is the same, which is around 12° C. In EuroCave wine storage cabinets, you can set the temperature between 5 and 20° C. If you want to keep a supply of bottles at drinking temperature in addition to storing wine, the 3-zone wine cabinets have special temperature zones.

Yes. Several shelves are available that are adapted to different bottle types. For example, sliding platforms are available as universal, Champagne or Magnum. The number of bottles that fit on a shelf does vary.

Yes. All EuroCave wine cabinets come standard with lighting, which does not emit heat and UV radiation. You can choose to have the lighting on permanently, or only when the door is open.

Multi-zone wine serving cabinets are suitable for keeping different types of wine at serving temperature. If you want to put large quantities of one variety at serving temperature, our 1-zone wine cabinets offer the solution. In this wine storage cabinet, you have one temperature zone that you can set between 5 and 20° C. This allows you to set a temperature of, for example, 18° C if you have a lot of red wine or 7° C if you have a lot of white wine.

The only adjustment to be made is the machining of the bottom grille on the front make flush with the air outlet.

If integrated (in a kitchen cabinet): the bottom grille should be aligned with the door. Therefore no need to move it. The product is delivered in the correct setting.

If built-in (between 2 kitchen cabinets. usually on the floor): the bottom grille should be pushed back and aligned with the appliances and kitchen plinth.

All the details are on the installation drawings, user manuals and video tutorials.

Not necessary for Inspiration. However, in the case of built-in installation, the strip above and below should not be blocked by the kitchen baseboard or an aesthetic filler. This is because the air circulates through these 2 areas around the wine cabinet.

The door of Inspiration wine cabinets can be opened from the top and from the side.

Yes, you can do this if you have a solid separation between the two cabinets (not provided by EuroCave). The solid separation allows the two wine cabinets to be attached correctly.

It depends on the type of maintenance. For the usual annual maintenance, no. For technical problems related to the cooling system or electronic panel, yes.

This type of maintenance should, of course, be performed by qualified personnel recommended by EuroCave.

We recommend using water and a neutral liquid soap. Make sure the soap does not contain grains that can scratch the surface. Use a soft cloth for this purpose. Rub the surface, following the steel brush direction.

No, we cannot change the color of the lighting. EuroCave uses amber light, as this does not harm the quality of the wine, unlike white or blue LED light.

Yes, without special conditions. With this, we do of course recommend ordering a left and right door opening option for more ergonomic use.

Yes, according to the installation conditions (available from your EuroCave supplier).

The inside of the cabinet is delimited by a conductive aluminum plate and also by LOW-E glass. The plug is grounded. All together the perfect definition of the Faraday cage. This makes it very difficult for external electromagnetic waves to enter the cabinet.

The back panel, developed by EuroCave, especially for the Royale, is like an air pipe with openings that perfectly disperse the air inside the wine cabinet. This limits hot or cold spots or even areas that are too humid. This additional wall also limits the heat radiation on the wine bottles.

It depends on external conditions and the frequency of opening the door. We recommend filling the tank with water every 6 to 12 months. If you forget to fill the tank, the Royale is equipped with a humidity level alarm.

It is desirable to use distilled or demineralized water in the tank.

The carbon filter, designed specifically for the Royale, captures volatile organic compounds. It should be replaced every 6 to 12 months, depending on the environment in which the Royale is placed. The integrated alarm will notify you at most once a year.

Yes. The glass doors are treated to block 98% of UV rays. A triple glass door is used for the Royale and argon gas is injected between each glass panel. More than 99% of UV rays are filtered in this way.

The LED lighting in the wine cabinet has a lifespan of 50,000 hours. This is more than 5 years with permanent use.

280 kg, without packaging material. 340 kg with the packing material (special wooden casing).

EuroCave recommends a minimum of 2 people. 4 people is more comfortable and safer. Straps should be used to properly elevator and move the cabinet.

Yes you do. The grooved elements and cover plates can be cut to size for a small additional charge.

Yes. You can easily stack the elements on top of each other. However, because of the weight of the elements, we strongly recommend that you build large racks with at least two men.

No. The elements fit together perfectly and remain stable due to their weight. Assembly with glue or cement makes any relocation or moving of the system virtually impossible.

Yes you do. Thanks to the modular structure of the system, the rack can also vary in height and thus be perfectly placed in a vault or under a sloping ceiling.

No. Modulothèque 's oak wood has been carefully treated with linseed oil, which gives it excellent resistance to high humidity.

Yes. Modulothèque features adjustable feet that can be adjusted to any floor.

Yes. Several shelves are available that are adapted to different bottle types. For example, the sliding shelves are available as Universal, Champagne or Magnum. The number of bottles that fit on a shelf does vary.

Yes. The system can be attached to both the wall and floor by screws. Due to the weight of full wine cases, it is highly recommended to use this option especially for higher racking.

No. The metal is treated with a black epoxy coating. This prevents Modulorack from being corroded.

We recommend stacking a maximum of four modules high. This means you will have a total of eight cases on top of each other, with a total height of 2 meters.

No. The shelves have non-slip rubber strips that keep the case firmly on the shelf.

No ventilation in a relatively humid environment, can contribute to bad odor and mold. Slow continuous ventilation would be better. This can be created by an opening at the top of the room (of about 300 x 50 mm) and a gap under the door of about 2 cm. This creates a "wine cellar window" effect.

It's normal. It takes time for the temperature in the wine cellar to stabilize. How long it takes depends on the number of bottles, the volume of the room, the quality of the insulation, the power of the wine cellar cooling system, the indoor and outdoor temperatures.

Yes and no. You should not store products that give off an odor in the wine cellar. Think of vegetables, cheese, vinegar, meat, chemical products. However, anything that is airtight packed may be stored with your wines.

Remote control power supply: 1 x 3 V (battery CR 2430) (2 batteries included)

The remote control contains 2 batteries. Only one needs to be activated by pulling the plastic tab. The other serves as a spare.

  • When the battery is low, the battery icon flashes on the remote control display. Remove the remote control from the wall
  • Push down the dead battery on the back of the remote control using a screwdriver (see diagram to the right)
  • Pull the tab of the spare battery to activate it
  • Do not forget to install a new spare battery

If after replacing the batteries you still do not get an image on your remote control please contact your EuroCave dealer.

Yes. A storage room, garage, attic or basement closet, any room can become a true wine cellar. However, it is important that this space is properly insulated. If you want to know the specific requirements for each system, check out the INOA or split cooling unit specifications.

Yes. Not every cellar is necessarily a wine cellar. Ordinary cellars can also be subject to temperature fluctuations, poor humidity or not enough air circulation. INOA wine cellar coolers solve these problems.

It depends on the system. The smallest unit, the INOA25, can turn a room of up to 25 m³ into a wine cellar. The INOA50 has a capacity of up to 50 m³. The split cooling units are available for any space. If you want specific advice, contact your EuroCave advisor.
